The graph shows cases of rabies among wildlife reported in the United States by year and species from 1984 to 2013. Wild animals accounted for 92 percent of reported cases of rabies in 2013. Raccoons continued to be the most frequently reported rabid wildlife species (accounting for 32.4 percent of all animal cases during 2013), followed by bats (27.2 percent), skunks (24.7 percent), and foxes (5.9 percent).
