DGHT Director Joins Global TB and HIV Experts in DC Conference on Ethiopia

On Thursday, March 3, 2016, Dr. Shannon Hader, MD, MPH, Director of the Division of Global HIV/AIDS and TB (DGHT) will join other global health experts at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to share CDC’s efforts in “Sustaining Ethiopia’s Progress in Health”. This event will feature three expert panel discussions on the challenges to the U.S. – bilateral relationship, the major infectious diseases that continue to plague the country, and Ethiopia’s efforts to achieve universal health coverage. Dr. Hader joins a distinguished panel including:
- Nellie Bristol, Senior Fellow at the CSIS Global Health Policy Center
- Randall Reves, Chair, StopTB USA
- Bernard Nahlen, Deputy Coordinator
The panel, which will run from approximately 10:30am – noon, will discuss CDC’s role in infectious disease control in Ethiopia, the nation’s polio legacy planning and research findings on Ethiopia’s TB burden.
