Cancer Facts for Demographic Groups

According to CDC’s Office of Minority Health and Health Equity, life expectancy and overall health have improved in recent years for most Americans. Despite this, not all Americans are benefiting equally. CDC monitors trends and patterns in cancer incidence and mortality and identifies which populations are disproportionately affected by the disease. Making cancer screening, information, and referral services available and accessible to all Americans can lower the high rates of cancer and cancer deaths.
